You are bidding on a charming South East Asian Bronze figure of the Buddha, dating to approximately 1600 AD. The Enlightened one depicted cross-legged, his left hand resting on his lap and his right resting on his leg. He is depicted wearing loose-fitting robe, his hair tightly curled with usnisa. The Buddha's face is sensitively carved with serene expression. The Prince's decision to renounce worldly possessions is represented by the Buddha's long earlobes. This is a reflection of Prince Siddhartha Gautama's life of luxury, w he used to wear heavy jewellery, before he chose to follow the path to Enlightenment. Height of sculpture: 2 3/4 inches.
