This auction is for a "Secret of the Gnomes" Collector Plate by Rien Poortvliet, dated 1986, titled "NOAH'S ARK AND THE GNOMES." This plate is from the book of the same name published by Harry N Abrams- 1981 Unieboek, BV and is numbered 101 out of a limited 15,000. This comes to you in the original box, in perfect condition, has not been displayed, so it is brand new. The plate is 8 3/4 " with a gold edge and is Fairmont Porcelain. Also, signed Rien* on front and back. The back of the plate says: The flood took place at the end of the Stone Age, fourteen thousand years ago. Even Gnomes could not ignore the Commandment: "and all living things, of all flesh, thou shalt bring one pair into the ark to be saved with thee". During the disembarkment on Mount Ararat the Gnomes made themselves useful by directing the animals to the various continents.
