The features of this music box are: Sectional comb (20 sections: 19 have 5 teeth, one has 6) total 101 teeth SN. 4707 Plays 4 tunes Keywind movement with brass bedplate Brass cylinder 8" long, with excellent pinning Plain fruitwood case 13" long x 5" deep x 4" tall (when closed) Th ese very early music boxes, made entirely by hand and totally without the benefit of either electricity or mass production, were each individual works of art, with their unique tune arrangements and other distinguishing characteristics as much a result of the independence of their makers as well as the circumstances under which they were made. Sectional-comb music boxes represent the earliest cylinder box formats, at a time when combs could not be made in one piece due to the unavailability of such large pieces of steel!The casework of these music boxes was typically plain, as they strove to produce "The Best" musically and the boxes sold themselves based on their music.
