HENRY STANTON (1796-1856) - WAR OF 1812 OFFICER & MEXICAN WAR BRIGADIER GENERAL -- STANTON SERVED WITH GENERAL THOMAS JESUP & GEN. GEORGE IZARD FIGHTING SEMINOLE INDIANS IN FLORIDA & WAS BREVETTED BRIGADIER GENERAL FOR MERITORIOUS CONDUCT IN THE MEXICAN WAR! 's a RARE 1832 MILITARY LETTER SIGNED BY STANTON WHILE SERVING UNDER GENERAL THOMAS S. JESUP. THE LETTER IS ADDRESSED TO MAJOR GEORGE BENDER [a Captain during the War of 1812, serving in the Army 'till 1833]. Stanton writes: "Sir, I have received in good order the packages of Army clothing shipped to my care on board the Schooner 'Valiant" agreeably to the Invoices and Bills of Lading enclosed with your letters of the 13th and 17th Ultimo.
