Set of Five "Flower Panel Border" Soup BowlsStaffordshire Blue circa 1825 Description: Offered for sale is a fine set of blue and white transfer decorated soup plates from an unknown Staffordshire potter working around 1825. The soup bowls/plates show an oriental scene with a family in the foreground viewing a Byzantine church in the distance. Collectors identify this series of views by its border, which they call "Flower Panel Border." Each plate measures 10 1/8 inches across and weighs 1 lb 2 oz (7 lbs+ shipping weight for the set). T is no maker's mark. The set is in good condition with no major chips or cracks, but the pieces do have some minor flakes. Three have very small rim flakes, one has a small reverse rim flake, and one has a fine rim hairline that cannot be seen from the front. See the detail photos below, w the flaws are shown.
