Up for auction is an extraordinary set of eight cut crystal whiskey tumblers. While I am not certain of the pattern and manufacturer, I believe that the pattern is "Winfield" made by Pitkins & Brooks during the Brilliant Age (1875-1915) of American cut glass manufacture. The tumblers feature a "buzzsaw" motif, with hobstar centers surrounded by straight miters and fans that resemble a clockwise spinning buzzsaw. Height of the tumblers is 3 3/4", with a top diameter measurement of 3" -- each weighs just over 11 ounces. Amazingly, t is no damage to report: no chips, no cracks, no rough rims. The only signs of the set's age appear, as would be expected, as surface scuffing on the bases. The pictures certainly do not do justice to the sparkle of this truly beautiful glassware. Examine the photos carefully, and feel free to make inquiries prior to bidding. Please check our other items for additional pieces of vintage glass. We will happily combine auction winnings to reduce shipping charges.
