This is a SUPERIOR, best we’ve ever seen, example of a rare Seth Thomas Rosewood 8 DAY very old column and cornice mantel clock. A wonderful, wonderful clock! This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL RARE AND EXCITING NEAR ALL ORIGINAL example of a very early Seth Thomas Rosewood Column and Cornice Mantle Clock in NEAR MINT condition. Ladies and gentlemen; THIS IS A CLOCK!!! It's getting extremely hard to fine one this original and this nice! One of the very best we’ve ever seen. It has a perfect running 8 day Lyre signed weight driven time and strike movement. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. It was made circa 1965. It is an extremely classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. This clock is weight driven and not spring driven. Weights keep better time than springs as springs run slightly fast when they are first wound and lose power as they wind down and cause the clock to slow down somewhat before windings. The movement is in superior running condition. (After all these years!) Also this clock looks like it was cherished its whole life. All Three pieces of glass is wavy and original and the reverse paintings are original and the absolute best we’ve seen this old.
