Old veneered sewing box with a domed lid, inlaid diamond shape marquetry panel in the centre, and a diamond shaped pale wood escutcheon round the keyhole. Needs some tlc - there is a piece of veneer missing on the back right side of the lid, and a few scratches and nicks elsewhere. No key and no tray. But original lining paper and nice shape. Size 10" x 6.5" x 4" (25 x 17 x 10 cm).Inside is a collection of old sewing stuff, all as shown. This includes: a part card of boot buttons, some black glass buttons, and leather, wood and metal buttons. 4 wooden cotton reels, reel of crochet cotton etc 2 thimbles scissors (don't look old) crochet hook, 2 awls and lace making measure made of pale cream material - plastic/bone/celluloid ??? 3 studs (similar material) rug hook poppers and hooks & eyes packet of pink nylon lace seam binding 2 packets of buttons - self cover and "Scru-fix" cylindrical metal "Mitrailleuse" needle case Old needle case with lady under a cherry tree - but split at the hinge A whole lot of interesting, mostly vintage stuff.
