SHABBY CHIC ANTIQUE 19th C FRENCH HAND CARVED OAK & BRASS COAT HOOKS/ RACK This auction is for a really stunning shabby chic, solid hand carved oak, 19th century coat rack. Measuring approx. 46ins (107cms) wide, it is a traditionally carved wooden coat or hat rack with a large ornate central boss above a curved and similiarly carved bottom edge with two brass hooks on decorative brass bosses on either side. to the centre is a plain brass motif and above is a serpentine fromted shelf. It is supported by mirror paltes at either end and is a very heavy piece, being thich sectioned solid oak ! It is in good condition, solid and sound and is rot and wood worm free. (For as accurate representation/description as possible, please have a good look at the photos below. ) This really is a beautiful and impressive rack that would really enhance any wall it was mounted on!
