A 19th C. French lantern with beautiful antique patina. Layers of old weathered paint and surface rust have graced the piece with an unmistakable signs of age. A large fixture, it features beautiful leaded glass panes. The lantern has a wonderful silhouette. A hinged door provides easy access to the lanterns interior. Several of the leaded panels have been newly re-leaded to replace some of the worn lead came and any broken glass pieces. We detect that one of the iron-foliated elements has been lost over the years. Currently the piece does not have any electrical wiring, though it would be ideal to use with a simple, hanging central light bulb.
