The Shattered Chain: A Darkover Novel by Marion Zimmer Bradley. NY: DAW Books [April 1976] 1st printing. Very lovely inscription by the author to FJA (see scan) which reads: "To Forrest J Ackerman/the only person alive/who believed in me/before 1955/Marion Zimmer Bradley". FJA was well-known for the many, many years of help and encouragement he provided to new and struggling authors. In fact, one of the earliest authors he encourages was Ray Bradbury ... when they were both still teenagers! The Darkover series was a wildly successful SF-Fantasy chronology consisting of several novels and short stories set in the world of "Darkover."
