This auction is for a brass-built Shay-type twin cylinder steam engine. It is single-acting, 6.5mm bore by 18mm stroke, 85mm high by 60mm wide, 30mm deep. I bought it as an engine for a G scale or 16mm Shay, but have no use for it now. It runs on about 20psi of air, but would run better with a flywheel to carry it over the dead spots caused by it being single-acting. One of the cranks is marked 'RS & CO', the other side '1002', but I don't know what this refers to. There is a small amount of surface rust on the connecting rods, a screw missing from one of the cylinder end caps, a nut missing from one of the valve chest covers, and someone has got carried away with red sealant around one steam chest and cylinder. Included is a fixing bracket that attaches to the frame members below the cylinders for mounting the engine vertically on the side of a Shay loco. The union nut for the steam pipe is 1/4" X 40tpi. You may be interested in my other steam-related item, the bogies that go with this engine. I will combine postage if you win both of these items. Any questions, please ask.
