Sheaffer Asia Series "Royal Selangor" BambooPen Up for auction is a very unique pen. This Special Edition pen was the first and last in the Asia Series. The fountain pen has never been used, dipped nor inked. Following is some of the marketing copy Sheaffer developed to promote this pen: Limited Edition "Asia Special Series". Sheaffer Pen and Royal Selangor Pewter proudly introduce the Bamboo fountain pen, the premier offering in the new Asia Series of special edition fine writing instruments. Cast of solid pewter and embellished with a deeply carved bamboo pattern, the fountain pen features an 18k gold nib with a palladium-plated chevron. The Bamboo fountain pen is for those who appreciate both beauty and performance in a fine writing instrument. A beautiful collectible fountain pen that should gain in value because THE ASIA SPECIAL SERIES IS NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION. The Asia special series was to have been the first in a line of special series pewter fountain pens by Sheaffer. However since the purchase of the Sheaffer Pen Company by BIC, the planned series will not be continued. So, this is the first and last of the Asia fountain pens. I am very sure that in the years to come, this will be a very hard Sheaffer pen to find.
