At auction, a WHITE DOT SHEAFFER 1000 LIFETIME oversized balance pen in gray pearl stripe and from about 1938. This pen is 5-1/2" long and has a barrel diameter of .516" at the cap opening. It is a plunger filler that will need to be resealed before it will take up ink. The trim is chrome plated and is well worn or brassed on the clip and is beginning to brass on the cap ring. The plastic is generally pretty good, but there is one very tiny notch-like chip at the cap opening (less than 1/16"). The Sheaffer barrel imprint is still bold and contains the 1000 designation. The barrel also has a full name monogram opposite the Sheaffer imprint. The big SHEAFFER'S LIFETIME two toned 14K nib is in great condition and seems like a fine rigid point.
