Sheaffer Oversized Balance Fountain Pen - A Beauty!White Dot - Lifetime Gold Nib - Marine Green This pen was taken out of a 1930's home. I believe this pen was made in the early-mid 1930's because of it's patent numbers, but am not sure if this is the way you date these pens. It is very handsome. The primary colors are green to olive green with a black backgrond (I think it is called marine green). The green areas are opalescent. It has the white dot, a gold band around the base of the cap and a Lifetime gold nib.Condition: I am by no means a fountain pen expert but this pen appears to be in Very good condition. A couple tiny dents on the cap. On either side of the lever t is a tiny dent. As they are symmetrical I assume they are part of the design? The only way I could get them to show up was to make the picture black and white. It has light wear but I assume could be polished away. In general it is nice and shiney. When I shake the pen I hear something rattling inside, I believe this is dried up ink or the ink sac? Have never used and don't know about these but that is what I assume. Again, please ask questions so that I can look at the pen and answer read more
