Offered is a very UNIQUE Sherlock Holmes Lamp and Shade that was Hand-made in England a number of years ago. It is probably a papier-mache' composition while the shade has a cloth covering. It is wired but needs a plug which can be purchased in almost any hardware or electrical section/housewares retail outlet. It is quite light, ten or less pounds, but the shade and lamp portion may be sent separately. It still retains some of its original packing which can be seen in the accompanying photographs and has never been displayed. Sherlock is about 14" high and 9" deep and the shade [his deerstalker] is about 6" high. I have every reason to believe that once this is properly wired it can be a functioning lamp but it is sold ONLY as a decorative accessory, ie. "AS IS". I am not responsible for its use in an electrical capacity and I would recommend it be checked by an electrician or someone knowledgeable with electrical matters.
