SHEYKA ZUNI SQUASH BLOSSOM 925 SIL HUMMINGBIRD NECKLACE Midwest Estate Buyers is pleased to offer, for your consideration, this incredible squash blossom necklace that was designed by the Zuni silversmith, Porfilio Sheyka. It is fashioned out of sterling silver with 10 hummingbirds on either side of the decorative naja, which also contains one of these beautiful creatures. The inlays are made with black jet, mother of pearl, abalone, green serpentine, coral, brown shell, turquoise and jet. The back of the naja is signed with a P. The item is in excellent condition, but could use a polishing if desired. I believe that it may have been designed in the late 60's. A statement about the piece and a letter to the original owner from Nordica Haus of Breckenridge, CO are included with the item. They are dated 12/9/1974, and state that the retail value at that time was $2000 dollars. Craftsmanship of this nature is highly vied for, and will be a wonderful asset to any jewelry collection.
