1960 First Edition by Martin Hardwick Hall. This book outlines the significant different between the Civil War east of he Mississippi and the Civil War west of the river where the greatest hardships were those encountered on the long, difficult marches. "When I go to another war, I'm going to it a a way I can get to it quicker than I can this 'ere one" was a gripe often heard in Sibley's Army during the march to conquer New Mexico and to guarantee for the new Confederacy its realization of "manifest destiny". 366 pages, illustrated. Dustcover has tear and is in fair condition. Book has scuffing at corners and spine top and bottom. Binding is tight. Occasional markings by original owner but they do not distract from readability of book. Payment within 2 days of auction end.
