VINTAGE AUTOMATIC 25 JEWELS GENTS WRISTWATCH WORKING SHOCKPROTECTED WATERPROOF DATE CALENDAR PROBABLY 1970'S 30 mm dial Central sweeping seconds hand Dial face scratched and shows wear Glass dial cover scratched winder scratched and sounds scratchy when winding. Metal casing and rear casing scratched and worn No watchband Rear outer casing is engraved with Sicura Emblem depicting a fish within a crown with Seahorses either side. Engraved ' SICURA GARANTEED ' While Sinn and O & W obtained the rights to watch parts after Brietlings bankruptcy in 1979, it was Ernst Schneider and his Sicura watch company that obtained the rights to the Brietling brand. Sicura was founded in the 50s and concentrated on the lower end of the Swiss watch market. With the acquisition of Breitling, Sicura became the premier producer of slide rule watches in the world. While apparently some Sicura models continued to be marketed into the 80s, the company focused on the flagship Brietling brand changing it's name from Sicura AG to Breitling AG in 1993.
