Recently acquired from a South Florida estate is a hand carved and tinted ivory okimono (table decoration) or possibly a toggle, fashioned as an apple with beautifully colored skin. The apple is open on one side to show a pierced and undercut miniature scene of two men on a bridge, under a shade tree. One is smoking a pipe, the other walking with a stick. The detail is amazing and the condition is excellent. We are also listing a persimmon, slightly peeled tangerine, partially peeled banana and 3 nuts. I'm unsure as to the age of these pieces. Any information from knowledgeable bidders would be appreciated. Winning bidder pays shipping and insurance, we charge only actually shipping charges. Please feel free to direct questions or comments to The apple measures approx. 2 1/2" high inclusive of the stem and approx. 2 1/4" wide.
