Vintage Kurt Gutman Gold Bee Pin Circa 1950 The story starts, of course, with young, talented Kurt Gutman himself, the son of a banker in pre-war Germany. Wanting to be a jeweler instead of a banker, he worked hard to earn a rare and highly prized apprenticeship with the prestigious Germany Jewelry company Giuseppe Knoll. Afterwards, he decided to concentrate on the Italian market, opening many new and successful fine jewelry accounts. At the war's end, in 1945, he returned to Europe as an American citizen, w he renewed old acquaintances and was eagar to import their high quality gold jewelry to the U.S. Although that is commonplace today, back then he was braking new ground. Kurt retired in 1982. Stamped 14k, the pin is 14-karat yellow gold. Also stamped KG and Germany. The weight is 2.3 grams, including gold plated pin back. The pin measures 1/2" x 1/4". The bee is black enameled and has a genuine freshwater pearl body. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! Check out my other items ! Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
