A classic example of Lea Stein's popular 'Ric the Terrier' dog brooch. Lea Stein is a French artist and accessories maker, known for her compressed plastic buttons, brooches and bracelets. She is often hailed as "the most notable and innovative designer of plastic jewellery of the 20th century". Each Lea Stein brooch is practically unique as the Parisian designer used many different effects, patterns and colours to create subtle differences between her works. This particular brooch is designed in a cream pinstripe with black for the collar, nose, eye and ears. The brooch measures approximately 5.5cm at its widest and 9cm at its longest, and the v-shaped pin on the reverse is signed 'Lea Stein Paris'. Although vintage it is in good condition. Sent in a complementary gift box, this stylish piece would make a superb present, particularly for a dog lover or owner.
