SIGNED PHOTO Herschel Green WW II Flying Ace AIR PILOT This item is from an estate collection of WWII award recipient photos. This collection was assembled by a WWII Vet and Purple Heart recipient, who sent photographs off to well known veterans of War War II for signature. They were later certified for authenticity. HERSCHEL GREEN SIGNED PHOTO AND LETTER This auction is for a signed photo of Lt. Col Herschel H Green, World War Two pilot. Comes with PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity. Herschel "Herky" Green was a WWII flying ace in the US Air Force. Green was the leading ace of the 15th Air Force, downing 18 enemy aircraft and destroying 10 more on the ground. He flew in 1943 and 1944 in the North African and Italian campaigns. He flew with the 325th Fighter Group. By the end of his career in 1944, he had flown 100 missions and received the Distinguished Service Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal with 25 Oak Leaf Clusters, Silver Star, and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. Please refer to the pictures for further details. Very good condition. Very light wrinkling near edges. Has been stapled to a letter (also signed and certified). Otherwise clean and undamaged. zwh1.
