The Old Testament has 1340 pages... ...and the New Testament has 339 pages. Salvador Dali painted 32 beautiful full-page color illustrated plates... This Collection also includes this vintage mint in the box SALVADOR DALI men's Wrist WATCH.... ...that depicts Dali's famous "PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY" on the watch face.This was purchased in Water Tower Place in Chicago in the early 1980's and comes in the original boxes with paperwork... This beautiful Bible and Box are bound in a red leatherette with gilt lettering... It was published by Doubleday & Co Inc, Garden City NY, 1970. The Jerusalem Bible (JB or TJB) is a Roman Catholic translation of the Bible which first was introduced to the English-speaking public in 1966. It includes the deuterocanonical books along with the sixty-six others included in Protestant Bibles, as well as copious footnotes and introductions... The family information pages are unused... This RARE BOOK measures approximately 12 1/2" x 9" x 3". It has red ribbon placeholders, marbled endpapers and gilt page edges. THE JERUSALEM BIBLE, Illustrated By Salvador Dali This version was compared word for word with the Hebrew or Aramaic ancient text. The format was chosen to make intelligent reading easier, and the single column arrangement has for this reason been adopted. The supplements contain a Chronological Table, Measures and Money, an index of Biblical themes in the footnotes, and several maps. "The Jerusalem Bible" was the first widely accepted Roman Catholic English translation of the Bible since the Douay-Rheims Version of the 17th century. It carries the Church's Imprimatur as being correct in all matters of faith and doctrine. This means it is an official Roman Catholic Bible. The Jerusalem Bible was considered such a high quality advanced English translation of the Bible that the Holy See used it in the European liturgy and the Mass. This reference for The Jerusalem Bible can be found in the introduction page of the Roman Catholic Missals as the source reference for the readings. It has also been widely praised for an overall very high level of scholarship, and is widely admired and sometimes used by liberal and moderate Protestants. SALVADOR DALI 1904-1989 Eugenio Salvador Dalí was with out doubt, a genius. At the age of 14 exhibit his works to critics, often was (and is still some times), misunderstood.
