Book of poetry, and stories told in songs, of life at Magnolia Grove. Pictures of the home and its interior, pictures of Mammy Tap and her stories told in dialect. True stories of Old Tom, body servant during the Civil War of the Father of Richard Pearson Hobson, who is Margaret's brother. There are photographs of the author and her brother, plus others. Margaret Hobson was the last member of the Hobson family to live at Magnolia Grove until her death in 1978. The state transferred the property to the Alabama Historical Commission on April 5, 1980. Her Brother: Richmond Pearson Hobson (August 17, 1870 – March 16, 1937) was a United States Navy Rear Admiral who served from 1907-1915 as a U.S. Representative from Alabama. A veteran of the Spanish-American War, he received the Medal of Honor years later for his part in that conflict. Hobson sank the Merrimac during the war.
