Sikorsky H-34G helicopter 1/72 scale model kit by RevellThis is a highly detailed model of the Sikorsky H-34G helicopter in 1/72 scale by Revell Germany. It's not too easy to find this one anymore.The H-34, originally designated S-58, was originally designed as an anti submarine helicopter for use by the U.S. Navy, but this piston-powered helo was soon in service with The U.S. Army, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard as well. H-34s were named Seabat, Seahorse and Choctaw. H-34s were used as utility transports, troop carriers, sub hunters, medivacs and VIP transports. They were used to transport U.S. Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy. H-34s saw extensive action in the earlier years of the Vietnam War, and they were used by the U.S. space program to retrieve space capsules and astronauts after splashdown in the ocean. H-34s were used by numerous countries and saw battle action throughout the globe. The U.S. Marine Corps retired its last UH-34 with its final flight on Sept. 3, 1973.This particular model of the Sikorsky H-34G features a detailed cockpit, interior cabin with facing seats, aerials on the nose, right-side door that can be placed in open or closed position, and exterior hoist.Includes detailed instruction sheet with diagrams.
