The Silmarillion by J R R Tolkien hardback book. This is a first edition first printing of this book with it being published in 1977 by George Allen & Unwin. It was printed by Billing & Sons and has a blue top stain to the pages. The book is in very good condition and comes housed in its original dust jacket which has not been price clipped. The jacket shows some signs of light wear (some creasing to the spine and corners and along the top and bottom and there is a very small patch of blue laminate missing to the front right hand side but it is tiny) Jacket is slightly loose fitting. Internally, the book is also good. All pages are clean, bright fully legible albeit very slightly yellowed through age. There is a neat gift inscription to the first free end paper as pictured. The book contains a pull out map of Beleriand and the Lands to the North at the back of the book (see photos for details) which is also in great condition.International buyers welcome.
