For sale is a 1999 Silver Britannia coin. The Royal Mint issues these much in the same way as the U.S. Mint issues Silver Eagles. This is part of a collection I have where I have found duplicates. The obverse depicts Her Majesty the Queen as portrayed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The reverse shows Britannia in a chariot drawn by two horses. The field of the coin is in a frosted finish and the highlights are in a polished mirror finish. Overall the coin is in proof-like condition. The mintage in this year was just 69,394. The silver content is 958.4/1000, which is about as good as it gets. The coin's diameter is 40mm and it weighs 32.454g. It comes in a clear acrylic capsule. With the price of silver moving ever-upwards you can't go wrong! The 2012 Britannia is on sale by the Royal mint at £57.50! The second coin, showing the obverse, is for illustration only.
