Original Silver Star, named to HARLAN F. HASSLER, Sergeant, #1786522, Company I, 316th Infantry, 79th Division, AEF, World War I. The medal is in good condition with original ribbon and semi-wrap brooch, engraved "Harlan F. Hassler" on the reverse of the star. Also included is original WWI Victory Medal, with correct battle clasps: MEUSE-ARGONNE, DEFENSIVE SECTOR, awarded to Sgt. Hassler's unit. T is a small silver star on the ribbon above the clasps which looks like a replacement. This is an outstanding gallantry pair to a WWI combat veteran. Comes complete with associated paperwork, including Veteran's Compensation Application, Silver Star authorization form, and some personal bio from . This is a RARE and exciting named group! The lower left hand arm of the Silver Star is also numbered 11049.
