Your are bidding on a piece of movie history. The trophy is connected to Jimmie Adams, a silent movie comedian that appeared in movies in the 1920's Here is a link to his history /actor-GYJ7/jimmie-adams/ The item is a large Trophy Cup that was either given out at a event sponsored by Jimmie Adams or was a movie prop. I cannot be sure. I have done some research and cannot find the actual event called the" Plantation Trophy" The date on the cup is March 9th 1924. The trophy cup does have some damage. The neck is bent so the trophy does not stand up straight. It leans back slightly but does not have any tendency to fall over. There is also a dent in the lip. The cup was made by the Derby Silver Company who made such items as these from 1872-1933. Here is a link for history /derby_silver_company.htm I acquired this item from a relative that worked in the movie industry for many years. I do not guarantee that this was in fact related to the actor Jimmie Adams but all evidence I have been able to find does point to that.
