This is a copy of the first edition of John Myers Myers' classic novel Silverlock , published by Dutton in 1949. Silverlock was apparently not that popular when originally released, but became a cult favorite among fantasy and science fiction fans, eventually leading to sporadic paperback editions starting in 1966. After the original 1949 edition, no hardcover was published until (probably) 2004, when NESFA Press did an edition. (I say "probably" because some people claim an outfit called Buccaneer Books released a hardcover in 1992 - I am not convinced this exists.)As can be seen, the jacket has a fair amount of wear around the edges, including some tears. The white back has acquired some dirt over time. However, the jacket is structurally sound. The book is likewise sound, and is in better condition, with a clean and bright interior. Note that the apparent gouges visible on the top and bottom of the page block are actually rough edges on a few pages which weren't cleanly trimmed. The jacket was placed in a mylar protector by an earlier owner. I will be auctioning more books in a few weeks, so check back (or add me to Favorite Sellers to get a notification).
