This Simex sextant was manufactured under contract by Tamaya of Tokyo for students of Captain Svend Simonsen's navigation school in the late 60's. The sextant is in good shape and shows light signs of usage.The arc illumination works for night/twilight use. This sextant includes an three different scopes for different applications (high, low and no magnification). It also includes a screwdriver, spare bulb, and adjustment tools. The index mirror and shades are in excellent shape. The horizon mirror shows some minor de-silvering at the bottom edge, but otherwise this sextant is in great shape.
