You are looking at an old Simplex railroad or house jack. It is number 84a and is a 5 ton jack. It is from Templeton Kenly & Co. from Broadview Illinois. The plate or cover is missing from the one side as seen in the picture. I don't know much about these, so the description is as close as I can get. This was painted black and some of the black paint is worn off. It needs to be cleaned. It is not rusty. T is one part that is tight on the inside and I did not loosen it up enough to make sure that it jacked consistently. I did not want to mess it up. The jack handle works perfectly and the lever or switch also works perfectly. It is a very nice looking piece. This will be shipped in a 30 pound package using actual shipping costs.
