SIMPLEX classic school / industrial office electric wall CLOCK - Large You are looking at a classic simplex electric wall clock. You have seen them in schools, hospitals and industrial offices over the years. It is in great shape, in running condition when removed. The brushed aluminum sides are paint free. It was original equipment in a school building office built in the early 1970s. It is the 'modern square' version of the 507 series. I do not know the model number; it is not on the face or the back. The electrical schematic notes the type as 8255 and the schematic number is 804-053 with possibly a revision C note. The hands are in a black matte finish. The face is the modern number free. The face is 15 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches while the back against the wall measures about 16 ½ by 16 ½ inches. Depth of the brushed aluminum sides is ¾ inches, then plus about 1 inche for the flattened domed front glass. This would be a great addition for a home shop or an office. As you can tell from the pictures, while the clock is made to be surface mounted on the wall, the motor and motor cover must be recessed into the wall. A square recessed box would hold the 7-inch round by 2-¼ inch deep motor cover. The recessed box would also have the hanging point for the attached clock hook.
