Pristine Singer FEATHERWEIGHT Scroll Plate 221 Sewing Machine & CASE & Accessories 1946 Black Finish & Scrollwork Pristine ~~~~ Hardly Used!! This Amazing Collectible Singer comes from the Original Owner's Home This Wonderful Featherweight is a 1946 edition !! All Gold Decals are pristine! One of Singer's earlier Featherweight sewing machines, this has the SOUGHT AFTER Scrolled Face Plate. While later models featured a sleek striated design, the earlier sewing machines had a fancy etched pattern. Also a RARE SILVER Turning Wheel, and the FOOT PEDAL, part # 195322 . See Below for more information. Serial Number AG809564 dates it to 1946 original Early Scrolled Face Plate Singer Feather model 221. Given as a gift in 1946, the orginal owner of this wonderful Machine, my aunt, never learned how to sew. It was passed on to her sister -in-law, my Mother, who was a regionally known quilting instructor in Upstate New York. She used it a bit, when travelling for workshops, but not that often. This Machine and Case have always been in our family's possession, so we are well acquainted with its history. All parts are original other than a replacement wall plug on the foot pedal. It has been stored in its original case and has been serviced about 8-10 years ago. All belts, bobbins, tensions, and light work well. Would recommend an oiling and inspection before continued use. Special Limited Production WW2 ORIGINAL Foot Pedal: The machine comes with Sewing Motor Controller Singer Part Number 195322, the all metal foot controller that was manufactured during the war years and only for a short time after the war was over. The Electrical cord comes out of the side. All other models had an end cord. The black electrical cord is original to this foot pedal. The End Plug that goes into the wall socket has been changed and is brown in color. There is small amount of rubbing on one end of the metal case where the shoe rubbed against it. This Sewing Machine, Case, and Accessories has been stored in our FAMILY homes, in clean, dry, and smoke free environments! Inside Lining and Tray are very good condition... Exterior bottom and two lower corners show wear and tear, but do not affect overall durability. Would recommend a preservative leather polish to the case.
