Siol Gems This Ethiopian opal has amazing color play, with a beautiful sky blue as its dominate hue. This gem has an array of patterns including bars and feathered. All of the flash can be seen through the hydrophane crystal base. Base Type - Hydrophane crystal. Some cracks, if cutting expect multiple finished gems. Some matrix with an unusual stick-like quality. Measures : 30x20x18mm Weight : 40.15ct Color Play : Blue & green pattern flash. Enjoy! Because these gems are hydrophane their appearance can be greatly enhanced when they are wet, giving an illusion of the true nature of the stone. These gems with gain and loose water according to their environment. When put in water many of these opals will turn a beautiful crystal clear.
