Offered is a replica of a Sioux strike-a-light bag made by me, Bob Brewer. Just finished this morning. The bag is 4 1/2 inches at the widest and 6 inches long, not counting the 3/4 inch length of the tin cones on the bottom. The front and flap are brain tanned buckskin embroidered with lanes of dyed porcupine quills sewn down with sinew. The back is a piece of cut-up parfleche. The dangles are buckskin thongs wrapped with dyed porcupine quills and further decorated with hand made tin cones and dyed red horse hair. Tin cones strung on buckskin thongs decorate the flap and bottom of the bag. Brass beads strung on the top tie thongs. The bag is edged with seed beads sewn with sinew. Has an aged appearance.
