Here's something new and interesting from our last big import show in Tucson this year. It's a nicely shaped and interestingly patterned jasper that polishes really nicely to produce some absolutely eye catching spheres! These spheres are a bit larger than golph balls. I didn't photograph each of them individually, but took some photos of a few to see both the consistency and variety of what this lot looks like. Each is uniquely patterened with beautiful spots in a pleasing, natural color pattern. Measurements for the sphere you are bidding on are shown below. A really fun and interesting little gem! This mineral is just as lustrous, but the spots were more distinct and in a larger variety of colors. It almost appears as if something were blasted apart and consolidated back into this lovely spotted pattern. The importer explained that it was a very hard rhyolite that takes a very nice polish. It's mined in Peru and the locals hand cut these spheres from the stone. They aren't particularly large, but they are really attractive and fun to read more
