You are bidding on : RARE Size 5 1/2 Old Vtg Antique Collectible German WWI Iron Cross Ring 1914 DHG -This is NOT silver, only silver in color. -This is a German Iron Cross Ring dated 1914 on the inside, scribed 1914 on one side and DHG (German Historical Group) on the other. The DHG or German Historical Group gave out these rings during 1914 for the relief of Germany. They were given to people who donated their gold or silver to the country. -The writing on the outside says: "Dem Alten Vaterland Die Treue zu beweisen Gab Ich in schwerer Zeit Ihm Gold fur dieses Eisen." Translated into English, this phrase means "For the old fatherland Loyalty to Show Gave I in difficult time To him gold for this iron." Please look over all pictures and ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE you buy.
