Small brown solid-body stoneware cheese dish, c. 1920's. It has a smear-glazed exterior and a heavily slip-glazed interior. It is sprigged with lion heads sustaining grapevine festoons and grapevine wreaths around the top and the base plate.Dome is 4” high plus 1-3/4” for the acorn finial (total 5-3/4”) and is 6-3/4” in diameter. Base is 8-3/4” in diameter and approx. 2” high. Overall height is about 7-1/2”. Impressed “W” (workman's mark). Red adhesive felt applied to the foot of base plate to avoid scratching wooden table surfaces.
