Small brown solid-body stoneware cheese dish, c. 1920's. It has a smear-glazed exterior and a heavily slip-glazed interior. It is sprigged with lion heads sustaining grapevine festoons and grapevine wreaths around the top and the base plate.Dome is 4” high plus 1-3/4” for the acorn finial (total 5-3/4”) and is 6-3/4” in diameter. Base is 8-3/4” in diameter and approx. 2” high. Overall height is about 7-1/2”. Impressed “W” (workman's mark). Red adhesive felt applied to the foot of base plate to avoid scratching wooden table surfaces. Perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.Payment required within 3 days of end of auction or immediately with "Buy it Now". PayPal only please.
