Old Paris Platter Imported by Davis Collamore Believed to be Haviland Limoges This small, handled Platter in white glaze with gold and blue (two hues of blue) banded decoration measures 12 1/2" X 9". It is in excellent condition: no chips, cracks, or crazing. The decoration is in good - very good condition; t is wear to the gold trim and three interior gold bands (see picture). The gold accents on the molded leaf decoration by the handles is in very good condition (see picture), as are the two two-toned blue bands on the platter's rim. All in all, a very attractive piece. Bought at an estate auction in NH recently, the piece came with several other pieces of china with identical decoration and importer's mark (Davis Collamore & Co. Importers Broadway, New York; picture below) that had a raised Haviland mark (Haviland Depose). This platter, though clearly a match to that set, does NOT bear the Haviland mark itself. However, based on its identical decoration, fine quality, same importer, and association with the other marked pieces, I conclude that it is also a 19th century Haviland, but please do not hesitate to ask questions if you should have any - I will try to get back to you the same day with any information I can share. (I am offering for auction this week two marked Haviland pieces that match this platter if you wish to compare. read more
