This is a lovely side table with a marquetry inlay of a seashell. There is also a line of marquetry at the base of the table. I do not know what kind of woods were used but I think Mahogany and satin wood. It stands 18" H X 18" Wide X 14" Deep. The table edge has a slight raised edge - about 1/4" high and there are two nicks in this piece as you can see in the photographs. The table has a few marks but is in overall great condition. Solid wood has a great veneer. Best is local pickup! Please email me for more pictures or details! *As with all well-loved vintage pieces, please expect minor imperfections and character. If you’d like more information or photos, please let us know. A fine Sheraton design, George III period mahogany and satinwood banded occasional table, on square tapering legs. The move to smaller, more manageable sized tables such as this one, was a move towards smaller rooms and a down scaling in the furniture scheme. It coincided with the birth of the middle class who needed fine furnishings but who would not be able to fit country house fitments into smaller city dwellings.
