This is an amazing and fine miniature oriental rug on a table size loom. The loom has all the warp threads (vertical) strung on it, a primitive black metal tool hung on the left side, and 5 miniature balls of yarn across the top. There is no identifying name or manufacturer on the loom. I think it may have been used in a protected display of some kind as it is not dusty. The little rug is finely made and complete. I doubt this was woven on this little loom, but it was hand made somewhere, then tied onto this loom. The wooden loom measures about 12" tall, 10 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" at the base. As you can see in my pictures, it sets at an angle flat and solid on the table. All of the wood has a light coat of lacquer. There is a crack in the wood on the top right edge, but it does not go all the way through, and does not have any structural effect. The little rug is about 8" wide by 6 1/2" tall. Please look at all my pictures, for close-ups and back views. This would be a nice display in a classroom or rug shop. We are a non-smoking home. Thank you for looking!
