Small Whieldon Creamware Staffordshire Teapot c1770This Whieldon teapot has a globular body that is molded or sprigged with leaves and a trailing vine. The leaves aren't very articulated which I'm not sure is intential or not.It has mostly a brown mottled tortoise shell glaze with splotches of green and yellow, a curled up end handle and sits on three feet. T has been restoration to about a third of the lip and about an inch down from that area near the spout. The lid is sprigged with grapes and a leaf, with crabstock handle, and has extensive restoration (I assume) as it is entirely matte sprayed.Still a nice display piece dispite its restoration parts. 4 1/4" high x 5 1/2" from spout to handle. Please see the other pieces of early Staffordshire pearlware and creamware pottery I have listed. Thanks for looking.
