Circa Late 1940's or Early 1950 's, this beautifully composed Signed H.R. Smith Real Photo Postcard shows the First Baptist Church, Bradenton, Florida with adjacent fascinating historic detail. The church is located on Manatee Avenue in downtown Bradenton. The reverse side has a pre-printed message for paritioners thanking them for their attendance from the then presiding minister, Frank T. Anderson. Note period automobiles (one appears to be a Studebaker) parked outside the Church along with a neighboring building sign that reads: "_urrill's Hardware and Appliances...Goods at Good Prices." (Could it Burrill's or Murrill's???) T are also other neon signs around the corner; one advertises a shoe store.Bradenton, which is going through a major expansion, is located in Manatee County just north of Sarasota and south of the Tampa-St. Petersburg metro area.On front right lower corner: "Photo by H.R. Smith." Postmark is "wavy" but readable: "Bradenton, Fla, 1952." Excellent condition . Any light markings on front surface of card are from its processing and mailing.
