Smiths W10 British Issued Wristwatch 1970. Hand winding ex British issued W10 wristwatch that was in service from the 1960s to about the time of the Gulf War in 1991.Has been my own watch for the last 4 years and only worn on rare occasions as a dress watch. Case Stainless Steel case in very good condition for the age and type of watch, one small ding on the top right lug. Fixed bars as per the military spec. Acrylic crystal in good clear condition with no scratches. Screw on stainless steel caseback with water resistant gasket intact. Caseback markings:W10/6645-99MOD Crowsfoot0668/70 Dial/Hands The dial is in good general condition but there is a crack aparent between 10 and 11 o'clock. Ive tried to show this in the last picture but it doesn't show up very easily. The minute hand is starting to loose its lume so the hands need reluming. Movement Smiths 17 jewel hand winding movement with an excellent reputation for quality and accuracy. Anti magnetic dust cover. The movement is running and keeping reasonable time when the watch is worn on the wrist but stops after 5-8 hours if left in one position. I suspect it needs a clean and service due to the lume that has come off the minute hand. Strap New NATO issued G10 strap.
