The Locomotive This 2036 locomotive has new e-unit contact fingers and a new rotor. Its smoking heater mechanism has been changed out for a new one.I've drilled the shell so I could add cotter pins and handrails. These are very stiff piano wires--hard to bend even with pliers. They extend out through the cab, along each side of the boiler, and disappear into the cowcatcher.I've drilled the area above the steam chest on each side so I could add working valve gears (see pictures). The locomotive has been spray painted with wine colored paint. To protect it, I've sprayed on several coatings of a clear matte finish. The Tender I've added handrails all around the top of this tender. They give it a more realistic look. The small defective circuit board for the air whistle has been changed out. I've added a small LED light to the back of this tender. The knuckle coupler actually works. The tender has been spray painted to match the locomotive color.
