See the images. Up for auction is a scarce booklet titled, "THE CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE SOCIETY OF THE ARMY OF SANTIAGO DE CUBA, WITH AN HISTORICAL SKETCH". Organized in the Governor's Palace, Santiago de Cuba, July 31, 1898, the society was formed to preserve the history of the campaign that resulted in the Spanish surrender at Santiago de Cuba. Booklet measures 6.25" x 9", 23 pages with contents including constitution, by-laws and a brief description of the events. Also with a list of officers and members of the council, including then Col. Teddy Roosevelt. A very nice full color embossed plate of the Medal of the Society. Condition generally EX with some small spot stains, light ink transfer from color plate to title page, tipped-in amendments to the by-laws as illustrated above. Only copy of this I have ever seen. Wold display nicely with one of the society medal badges, as illustrated in the booklet. FREE SHIPPING and NO RESERVE !!!
