Chief with headdress solid brass belt buckle. This buckle was picked up from a sale in Wisconsin. No further history of this item is available. The buckle is in Good to Very Good condition. The buckle is solid brass, even the loop which holds the belt. This is a heavy buckle weighing 5.5 ounces. It measures 4" wide x 3 1/4 " tall. It holds a belt up to 1 3/4 " wide. We cannot make out the imprinting on the back. Perhaps that last word says TAIWAN, which would seem to fit with the extreme stereotyped nose on the face of the buckle, but the 'I' looks more like the letter 'N' making it TANWAN. Enlighten us if you can. With no other clues than experience we figure this is a 70's belt buckle. Grading scale is: Very poor, Poor, Average, Good, Very good, Fine, Very fine, Excellent, Mint.
