This is a highly attractive, solid silver, George V cigarette case. It is beautifully embossed in a floral design, very much reflecting the art nouveau period. The shield shaped cartouche on the front is engraved, but I am unable to determine the lettering. Condition is stunning with no dents, splits or repairs and very little surface scratching. The hinge is strong and has a snap shut closing action and the case retains its original straps, although they have perished over the years but are easily replaceable. My photographs confirm condition, but further images are available if required. The hallmarks are very clear showing Birmingham 1912, the makers being Joseph Gloster Ltd. This case is substantial, weighing 110.6g, the dimensions being 9cm x 8.3cm. Many thanks for looking and good luck with your bidding.
